ZIM Cookies and Tracking Policy
This Cookies and Tracking Policy (hereinafter, “Cookies Policy”) applies to all activities of ZIM Integrated Shipping Services Ltd. (hereinafter called “ZIM” or “We”) with respect to the cookies that ZIM collects and stores in the course of its business activities, including through the ZIM websites (“Websites”), the MyZIM Personal Area (the “Personal Area”), Applications (“Apps”), and other interfaces with data subjects that we may use in connection with our Websites or Apps.

ZIM is committed to ensuring that your personal data and data privacy are protected in accordance with the best practices available, as well as according to ZIM’s relevant legal obligations. This Policy explains your rights regarding the cookies ZIM collects, processes and uses, including via the Websites, Personal Area, and Apps, as well as ZIM’s use of safeguards to protect these rights. The Policy also applies to ZIM’s use of cookies and tracking on the relevant website and application interfaces, as specified in this Cookies and Tracking Policy.

We may revise this Policy from time to time, and such changes shall come into effect from the moment ZIM notifies you of such changes and/or updates, either by email, on the Websites or in some other reasonable manner.
ZIM’s Use of Cookies and Tracking
A cookie is a small file sent from a website, which is then stored by your web browser. When you return to the Personal Area, the information in the cookie can be used to recognize your last session. Cookies cannot install malicious software such as viruses on your device, and they do not store any of your personal data or account information.
We use cookies to save and maintain users' settings and selected preferences during browsing sessions, for saving repeating users' preferences for future use (e.g. geographical location, accessibility and language selections and preferences), and for statistical analysis of the Websites, Personal Area's’ and Apps’ performance and trends and monitoring and identifying errors.
Cookies originate from two types of sources: first party and third party. The classification whether a cookie is 'first' or 'third' party refers to the internet domain that is placing the cookie.

These Cookies may collect information relating to traffic data such as the end user’s IP address, domain server, type of web browser, geolocation, browsing, and click-stream activity, session heatmaps and scrolls, and more.
When incorporated into our mobile services, this technology may provide us with information about the type of mobile device you use, your mobile device screen resolution, type of your network connection, your mobile operating system, other diagnostic data based on your interaction with the app (taps, swipes & pinches), and limited snapshots of our application screen that exclude all visible personal information.
In general, when you visit our website or otherwise utilize our services you remain anonymous. That being said, some of our websites and/or apps, may require that you login/register before you are permitted to access certain areas, such as MY ZIM. In such cases, the collected information may be more personal in nature, and therefore stored on our databases for a limited time and use. Please note that we may only use such information for purposes of improvement of customer experience a part of our commitment to you as our customer, assist in compliance, and as part of our legitimate interest.
We place a high priority on the security and confidentiality of the information stored in the persistent cookies we use in the Personal Area. For example, we do not store any of your personal information, payment information or passwords in persistent cookies.
